George Bush - Best comedian of this decade

I happened to be searching for some funny videos and I came across this one. Make sure you check it out. I promise it will make your day…

Yes, he is the most eloquent American President until now (extreme sarcasm) :)

And some more bushisms…..

And if you are interested, Stephen Colbert best summarizes my views on the Bush administration in the two videos below. This guy has guts. No wonder he was named “The Person of the Year 2007″

Tax Brackets

March 5th, 2008 ksap16 Posted in Humor No Comments »

Bar Stool Economics - Guest post from ksap16.

This is a nice one I received today - explains the tax system (and is ‘for’ it, not ‘against’ it as one would expect). Read on…

Suppose that every day, ten men go out for beer and the bill for all ten comes to $100. If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something like this:

The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing.
The fifth would pay $1.
The sixth would pay $3.
The seventh would pay $7.
The eighth would pay $12.
The ninth would pay $18.
The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59.

So, that’s what they decided to do.

The ten men drank in the bar every day and seemed quite happy with the arrangement, until one day, the owner threw them a curve. “Since you are all such good customers,” he said, “I’m going to reduce the cost of your daily beer by $20.” Drinks for the ten now cost just $80.

The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes so the first four men were unaffected. They would still drink for free.

But what about the other six men - the paying customers? How could they divide the $20 windfall so that everyone would get his ‘fair share?’

They realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33. But if they subtracted that from everybody’s share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would each end up being paid to drink his beer. So, the bar owner suggested that it would be fair to reduce each man’s bill by roughly the same amount, and he proceeded to work out the amounts each should pay.

Anger management joke

January 8th, 2008 Dividend Pirate Posted in Humor 2 Comments »

I try to keep my posts related to finance but this joke is just too funny. Read on…

Are you pissed off? Take it out on someone! But don’t take it out on someone you know, take it out on someone you don’t know!

I was sitting at my desk when I remembered a phone call I’d forgotten to make. I found the number and dialed it. A man answered, saying “Hello.”

I politely said, “This is Chris. Could I please speak with Robyn Carter?”

Suddenly a manic voice yelled out in my ear “Get the right f***ing number!”
And the phone was slammed down on me. I couldn’t believe that anyone could be so rude. When I tracked down Robyn’s correct number to call her,
I found that I had accidentally transposed the last two digits.

After hanging up with her, I decided to call the ‘wrong’ number again. When the same guy answered the phone, I yelled “You’re an ass hole!” and hung up. I wrote his number down with the word ‘ass hole’ next to it, and put it in my
desk drawer. Every couple of weeks, when I was paying bills or had a
really bad day, I’d call him up and yell, “You’re an ass hole!” It always cheered me up.

When Caller ID was introduced, I thought my therapeutic ‘ass hole’ calling would have to stop. So, I called his number and said, “Hi, this is John Smith from the telephone company. I’m calling to see if you’re familiar with our Caller ID Program?”

He yelled “NO!” and slammed down the phone. I quickly called him back and said, “That’s because you’re an ass hole!” and hung up.
